All Lit Up, Acrylic, Oil, and Cold Wax on Wood,

125cm x 90cm

The work was painted in Ruby Gap during an artist workshop on the eastern edge of the East MacDonnell Ranges. Lauren’s artwork is evocative of camping next to the energy of the riverbed, evenings spent around the fire, looking out to the ghost gums from the swag.

Lauren connects the surrounding environment to her work through the use of sticks and rags sourced from the location of her work.

For a moment we get a glimpse into Lauren’s heart of the bush, rich with energy, as the landscape comes alive.
